Terms of Service
Effective September 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of solandersoftware.com and the Solander product for firms that subscribe to it. By using either, you agree to them. We wrote them in plain English on purpose.
The service
Solander is compliance recordkeeping and workflow software for registered investment advisers. It helps a firm capture client communications, portfolio activity, and account changes as structured records, and uses AI to help draft and classify content.
Accounts and acceptable use
You need an account to use the product, and access is limited to a firm's authorized users. Don't share credentials, and don't use the service for anything unlawful. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service or put other firms' data at risk.
Your data is yours
The firm owns the firm and client data it puts into Solander. We don't claim ownership of it and don't use it beyond providing the service. A firm can export its data on request.
What Solander does — and doesn't — do for your compliance program
Solander supports a firm's compliance program by capturing and structuring the records it relies on. It is not a substitute for the firm's own supervisory or compliance obligations. The firm remains responsible for its own regulatory compliance — using Solander does not transfer that responsibility.
AI-generated content
AI output — drafts, classifications, summaries — is a suggestion, not a final record. An advisor must review it before it's used or becomes part of a client record. Firm-submitted content is not used to train our AI provider's models, per our agreement with them.
Fees
Fees are set out in the ordering document or subscription agreement between Solander and the firm, not on this site.
Warranties and liability
Beyond what's committed in a firm's written agreement with us, the service is provided as-is, without additional warranties. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our liability is limited as set out in that agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Florida law, and disputes are handled in Florida courts, unless a firm's written agreement with us says otherwise.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update this page with a new effective date. Meaningful changes will be flagged plainly at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
